Mega Dive presents a dystopian vision of resource extraction and environmental destruction, confronting the audience with the consequences of reckless human behavior. States and private companies are currently attempting to mine minerals at depths of over 6,000 meters below sea level as part of deep sea mining. Critics warn of irreversible and unforeseeable consequences for the largest ecosystem on earth.

In the show, an ambitious crew descends into the depths of the ocean to mine valuable metals from the seabed in pursuit of a quick profit. On their journey into the deep unknown, they ruthlessly devour everything in their path with an underwater vacuum cleaner – nature, morality, and perhaps even themselves.
