Drakula

Puppet opera show based on Bram Stoker’s DRACULA

MOŽ! is growing weaker by the day. His face is pale, and he feels drained of strength. Convinced that a vampire is to blame, he dreads the night and the darkness but knows he must stay strong. The play explores the delusions of an old man who attributes his sudden illness to a vampire, blending reality with ideas drawn from a book warning of blood-sucking monsters. His paranoia drives him on a journey into his innermost desires, yet his delusion prevents him from resolving his conflicting emotions.

This puppet opera explores the fragility of the human body and our fear of death while highlighting a female character who embodies the powerful persona of Dracula, singing live arias from Puccini’s Turandot and Gianni Schicchi as well as Bizet’s Carmen.

*MINIATURE PUPPET THEATER MOŽ!
When Covid-19 affected our perception, we created the project Miniature puppet theater MOŽ!, where we explore themes of isolation and mental illness. The main character is named MOŽ!. Everything that happens, happens with him and at the same time because of him. The goal of the miniature puppet theater MOŽ! is to explore the peculiar and beautiful way in which MOŽ! perceives the world from his isolated room. The literary foundation for the theater’s projects is Gothic literature (Dracula, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Frankenstein). The exploration of an isolated mind in the first show (MOŽ! sit with me) directly led to the exploration of the frightening and dreadful depths of human nature in the puppet opera Drakula. The ultimate goal is achieved when MOŽ! in the final piece of the trilogy (Viktor F!) creates his friend – when he himself creates new puppet life.
